Plants can truly be as nasty as bugs!
So this is a really minor detail, but I thought I'd share it regardless.
I had to do some very rigorous yard work because weeds and brush were absolutely out of control this year from the summer humidity and rains, and while I am not allergic to any types of "vines" or plants that people get reactions too, I have this one weed that's annoying and almost acts like something that will "trap" you and is easy to get tangled it and even trip over it if your shoes get stuck in it on the ground.
At any rate, I was yanking this stubborn weed which is basically like thin rope, and had run across my thumb and created enough friction to tear open some of my skin, and I thought to myself oh well, nothing major, but it also had created a small "wound" under 2 sections of the skin, along with some minor "splinters" from that plant.
That being said, this stupid weed gave me the most insane weird reaction that I initially thought may have been a bite from some kind of insect. Within a couple of hours, my thumb swelled up and it looked like a bug bite and it had this very weird, numb, tingling feeling and it was very uncomfortable to touch for the first 2 days, especially! But the swelling went down after that and then it ended up coming down to be the size of a small "red dot" which almost looked like a bug bite.
The feeling from this "reaction" was unlike anything I've ever experienced before, and as it progressed I just figured it could not have possibly been a bug bite, plus there were no obvious "holes" where the bite would have occurred.
It was still a bit painful for a few days, but all-together the pain mostly subsided in a week and it is mostly back to normal, and just between last night and today, my skin on the thumb ejected 2 small pieces of debris splinters from that god-damned fucking "weed".
2 years ago, that seem species of weed, whatever it is, made me fall when I was clearing something up in a wooded patch and I fell on my knees because it has the tendency to "wrap" and "clench around the shoes!
Fucking Nature!
It is incredible how powerful and annoying nature can be if you take things for granted....
