It's Looking Like My "Theory" About These "Audiophiles" may actually be truer than I expected...

I read this comment earlier this morning under a YT video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjRuK1GKj3A

"A good friend which happens to be a serious audiophile, was not happy when he sat in my house and started listening to my audio setup, including my Klipsch speakers. He was very disappointed when he realized that his very expensive audio system which cost 10 times more than my system, didn't sound as a more expensive system in comparison. Klipsch speaker are among the best bang for the buck out there, and they sound great."

So, basically, this is the "same" incident I ran into but online with several people and over the same brand, basically being "insulted" for even owning them. There might be another thing going on with all this too, because this company "still" actually makes many of their Higher-end models in the USA whereas over 70-90% of Worldwide Loudspeaker / Hi-Fi Gear in general is manufactured somewhere in Asia, mostly China. A unit I recently acquired Brand New was made in the USA, in fact it was "hand-made" and hand-assembled, not even done on an Assembly-line, and I sure paid the price even for that.

In fact, I think that if you can buy or own anything that is Hand-made in the year 2025, that it's quite something fascinating and completely remarkable, considering how much of everything comes off of an assembly line these days, even things like clothing.

Super High-End Audio Gear is NOT cheap. Even one piece of equipment can cost as much as a car, if not even more! Not even kidding, the prices really do go that high, an amplifier or speaker set can easily cost six figures, even Millions!

Almost every Audiophile loves to go on a rampage that nearly every brand that is not "Audiophile Grade" is probably junk made in China, even while almost ALL the Audiophile gear IS made in China regardless, many of which even have routine defects or bad quality control.

The loser who got upset at his friend below probably got upset not only because the system sounded better, but because it was also cheaper and maybe potentially still "manufactured"in the USA, whereas the chances are his friend's more expensive sets were made in China.

Just because something is "Audiophile Grade" doesn't mean it's practical or going to sound better or be better overall, in fact a lot of these so-called "Audiophile Speakers", in fact, many of them are only "one-trick ponies" and are not meant to be played loud or only sound good in certain meticulous "positioning", they don't fill the room with sound and don't handle Metal Music or a lot of Bass really good, so what would be the point of owning them, just to say that "I can" so I can boast to others much how much money I spent on them by showing off!? No wonder these pricks are miserable and where it can even get in the way of a friendship!

I'm really not into pissing contests of sorts, that stuff gets really old and pointless in life.

I could only imagine the types of criticisms I'd get from these fools if I actually invited them into my house to see my setups. I'd never hear the end of it between choice of speaker wire, placement and everything else.

It's not just this brand I got "hounded" for owning though either, I even got "criticized" by the Anti-JBL cults too.

Even weeks, months later, they are looking for "anyone" to come out and criticize from comments left in the past.

The only reason I came to these conclusions about why these losers get so angry, is that I can't for the life of me understand why someone would get so upset over something so trivial that someone owns, I've never even in my life seen people get as upset or angry over disputes between disagreements over Cars or even Sports Teams that they don't approve of like these vipers.

  1. I only know of one audiophiles...

And he is a good guy, but very particular about how he likes things done. He is also the most disorganized person. His house is a fucking pig pen. Shit is everywhere. This very odd, because the man is a mulit millionaire. I find that just so strange.

He has been an audiophile for about 45 years, and even had a TV repair shop back in the day. He is great with computers, and can fix almost anything, as he can do electrical and mechanical work with ease.

Not really a bad guy, just weird. I mean, isn't that a strange profile for a person?

    1. @Joey Aragon,

Yeah, that is kind of bizarre. His house is probably like that though because of depression. Something "went wrong" big time somewhere along the lines in his life.

I knew someone who lived like that but not well-to-do, and I kid you not, he didn't even have a clear space to even place a meal on a table to eat, nevermind any space in his sink to even wash dishes or anything.

    2. I don't visit this guy as much anymore. His house, which is work about 500K, smells very bad. He lacks self awareness, that is for sure...and all that money he is is locked up in financial companies...he doesn't spend, except for a Covette he paid cash for. He has never been in debt and never had any finance issues.

      Hire a cleaning lady!

I don't know what to do with this guy. He is a good person. Honest. But, just a slob. Definitey a demon, a good demon, if possible, is controlling him.

    3. @Joey Aragon,

Yeah that's the same kind of story with the guy I know, his lawn looks like shit, house smells bad and also just has a really bad energy vortex to it as well, and his whole life is in disarray with basically everything. Lacking in self-awareness and no real life plan or vision on anything. He went bald and aged REALLY badly early on in life with a pot belly too, skips meals and lives off of coffee and takeout.

Well, there are some "Demons" out there who are just not good at playing the "Demon"

    4. I think this guy just worships money so much, that he never spends it...

When he heard about compound interest, in his 20s, he was sold on it. He loves to say "money should double every 7 years"...and he has made a fortune in the stock market by just parking his money in there for nearly 40 years now.

Thing is, he is likely to never use that money!

He is going to die and pass it on.

That is just so fucked up, to me.

    5. @Joey Aragon,

Money either governs people by either greed or through fear, sometimes both, but fear is even stronger than greed sometimes, and it could be he is looking to just squirrel away more money than he'll ever spend in his lifetime out of that "fear".

A lot of Billionaires are even like that, even though Billionaires have WELL more money than anyone could ever need in a lifetime, there are even some who will live like a pauper.

      It's a sickness.

    6. Another hilarious thing about this guy is that he loves Italian sparkling water, but NEVER will buy it....

      He thinks its too expensive.

You just can't make this shit up. When I used to live in his city, I would come over with a case of that drink, and his eyes would light up...

It is really sad to see this guy now approaching 70, and he just doesn't get it. He is a slave to money, and it shows.

    7. @Joey Aragon, he does have ENORMOUS head complexes which are kind of on the level of a "chick", I have to admit that I see that in him which unfortunately takes away from his masculinity. No Man should be living with the extreme head complexes, concerns and worries about how others will perceive him as a Man, in the way he does.

He definitely has become a slave to money and in the pursuit of pleasing others before himself, and someday I feel he will come to really regret that. He's way, way too all over the place with life, concerns and trying to appease others and ride new trends or all this other crap that really really is just "meaningless" in the long run and will be forgotten. Nobody will care about these things at his funeral someday.

It's just REALLY weird how he lives the way he does, because he could really change it in an instant, he is his own worst enemy but can't see it, and as much as I hate to say it, I think his "short height" has played the whole role of being insufficient his entire life to where he feels he needs to go leaps and grounds above everyone else in the things he does to prove himself. Just horrible.

    8. I once planned a visit to his house around 4 pm. I called him around 3 pm and said I was close to his area (I had a 2 hour drive) and if it was ok to stop by earlier.

He got so pissed off and said NO...and that I was messing up his day by asking this.

I understood, but I really thought that was a bit harsh.

      😂 People are funny.

    9. @Joey Aragon, Wow Man really!?!? Haha! That's a bit odd he would get that irritated by that but it goes to show you how far away from being happy he is because something like that would bother him. Due to his reckless lifestyle, he doesn't have the patience or leisure I guess to meet a potential stranger on a whim. Even I used to do that regularly years ago.

    10. @PSA my mother is like that, very messy. Is it caused by depression? I had to grow up in mess and it really pissed me off. As an adult with no alternative to living elsewhere due to insane cost of living, my ‘band aid’ so to speak is, I clean the rooms of the house I use like bathroom, kitchen, my bedroom, and living room. I leave my mums mess to just her bedroom and the spare room. However it is almost unwalkable in that room. As soon as mess finds itself invading the rest of the house, I chuck it back into her room without a care if I damage it.

I almost see no hope with her as she will never change no matter the intervention. Funny enough, I believe it has made me the opposite. I am a minimalist and try to own as little as possible. People have commented and said my bedroom looks very bare, plain and boring. I even wrote down a list of everything I own just to make sure ‘I can own nothing and be happy’ haha and make sure everything I own actually is a purpose, and not taking up personal and mental space. I find a messy room really brings my mood down. But seriously I really don’t need to own lots of things. I like it very basic. It’s why I couldn’t live with a woman (when dating), as they own tons of useless stuff like 50 makeup powders, 50 shoes, 100 dresses, 50 necklaces etc. then it clogs up your house. I have noticed women tend to own way too much.

  3. Is your computer equipment good? Is it new or quite old now?

    1. @nothingiserious, I've been strictly adhering to much older computer equipment these days. Trying to really avoid new stuff.

    2. Do you own laptops? I have one that is 10+ years and I want it to last as long as possible.
What would you recommend me to do? Also when it comes to the battery, what could I do to not reduce its lifespan?

      Delete
    3. @nothingiserious,

Yes, I own both laptops and towers. If you get Business-grade systems, they definitely have great potential to live over 10 years. All of my equipment is between 10-25 years or even older, most of it still working in some form or another. The newer equipment now is less designed to be repairable or upgraded, and they are starting to put AI components in them and soon in the future, Computing will have to be paid for as a "service".

All the old systems I bought I generally maxed out the specs so I'm still very much far ahead of the game even in today's times, but I am beginning to experience issues using Browsers like Chrome which are end of their support life on old Windows versions. I'm using Firefox as a better alternative presently.

The best way to preserve battery life is to make sure that you stretch the charging percentage as wide as possible from charge cycles to discharge. So while you can charge batteries to 100%, it's good to not leave the equipment "plugged in" and the optimal range to allow the battery life to hover is between 20-80% of a charge.

Also avoiding having it go down to 0% will help prolong it as well.

    4. @nothingiserious, But the main thing to keep the systems running as long as possible is to make sure they are running cool and get plenty of airflow and that there are no dust accumulations inside the fans or intake/outtake vents and cooling systems, especially around the video cards and CPU's.

      Delete
    5. Thanks! I’m going in the right direction then. They are really old (for a computer) and still running fine, amazing. I didn’t know a computer could last that long, they have to be of good quality. By maxing out the specs you mean buying RAM and better processors? Are these components old as well?

Have you heard people saying that using old Windows versions is insecure? Personally, I think it may be true to some extent but they exaggerate. It’s not like by just connecting to the internet you will get malware on your computer which is what they want you to believe, decades ago it was easier to get your computer compromised but now even routers have built-in firewalls which are good enough to protect you from these types of attack.

Sadly internet will be unusable at some point but still I want my equipment to last as long as possible because of the BS they are adding to the new computers and also eventually you won’t be able to repair them yourself and the components will be of garbage quality. They won’t be compatible with old operative systems as well.

If you have to use Chrome try Supermium, it’s designed to run on old Windows versions.

      Delete
    6. @nothingiserious, Yes DEFINITELY hang onto your old equipment no matter what, especially if it can be repaired if something minor goes wrong, because all the new PC's just spy on you a lot more and have less options to tether independent devices to them because of how they want to control things for people going forward.

Computers "technically" can last forever, but usually they die sooner or later from just the heat stress on the CPU or another part that burns out, or sometimes the "Capacitors" blow, which is usually common at some point. Believe it or not, I do own some computers with "blown" capacitors, and yet they STILL power on and work, so I'm guessing the capacitors that blew just don't play an important role for whatever I needed the systems to be used for, or I never discovered what they are affecting at any rate.

But I spend MUCH more money on Audio Gear than I do with computers, I can't live without Music, I always have something playing so for me, my audio systems are what the gaming systems are like to a gamer.

Yeah no worries about the older versions of Windows being "less secure" as long as it's not older than Windows 7, you're pretty much good, the structure of the OS has changed a lot since then so it's not like the old exploits of the old times that left you more vulnerable. More of it is just fear porn to get everyone on-board with upgrading.

      >>If you have to use Chrome try Supermium, it’s designed to run on old Windows versions.<<

Thanks for the tip! I'll be checking into that, never heard of it before.

    7. @nothingiserious, Yes when I had purchased my last round of systems, I got them with the most available RAM, CPU and other features available, totally loaded. So even in this year 10 years later, much of my equipment is still far ahead of what most people are still buying in retail stores at present. I'm hoping [planning] to never buy any new computers for the rest of my remaining life unless I really have to, and then I'll buy a used or older model. I refuse to buy the new stuff.

      Delete
    8. I don’t know that much of computers but I’m surprised the newer components you bought are compatible with old systems. Good for you.

Interesting that you mention newer equipment spies on you more. Have you ever heard of Intel ME? Basically it’s like a hidden computer inside of your computer that theoretically could be used as a backdoor. Every computer with Intel technology manufactured after 2008 have it. And there is no way to disable it; even Google couldn’t do it, only partially. Allegedly the NSA asks Intel to fabricate their PC’s without this feature for obvious reasons.
