2025 May Be The Year I Ditch Beer For Good

This may seem a bit random, but as some of you know I've even explained how ever since I changed my diet years ago and became more fat-adapted, that I notice it reduced my desire for alcohol quite significantly in fact, but also that my taste for certain beers began diminishing as well.

The only thing I'm not quite certain about is that if it's also a product of age, but overall while I desire alcohol less, I absolutely am losing my palate for beer altogether.

I tried to pick up a couple of Six Packs this year for "Summer" with some known varieties I'd usually consume, and if these companies aren't changing recipes or my tastebuds are becoming more sensitive, I absolutely cannot stand the bitterness from beer.

One of the reasons I feel it may be tied to the diet thing though, is because I noticed when I started first replacing saturated fats for Carbohydrates years ago, the bitterness in any alcohol especially beer became more pronounced and offputting for me.

It wasn't just in Alcohol though either. I began to also have a dislike strongly for Olive Oil, Tea and Dark Chocolate, which also often have bitterness that lingers and it has actually become practically intolerable for me at this point.

The last times I've used Olive Oil, the bitterness is so intolerable to me it makes my flesh crawl, and I'm not even exaggerating.

What actually is kind of disturbing when you think about it, but it seems that Carbs not only program us differently to accept them as a more pronounced energy source when we are used to them, but the fact that they may actually inhibit the true extent of the bitterness or otherwise offputting effects of certain foods we may have been programmed to believe are healthy for us.

Our bodies may in fact be biochemically adjusting to make certain foods more tolerable to us under the assumption that we may be experiencing famine, but under normal conditions it makes these foods unappetizing to us.

And again, there was the recent banquet event I was at and I was nauseas just looking at the table full of pastries and sweets. For most of my life, I would salivate at the chance to devour a table of sweets.

I actually really really cannot stand beer anymore, and I've tried it several occasions this year, and it's like not even something I look forward to anymore. The only true test will be to see after mowing the lawn, but I even had some the other night and it's so disgusting for me now.

Never in a million years would I ever find myself coming to this... Again, unless these fucking companies are changing their recipes secretly. It's still a slight possibility, they might be adding more hops to compensate for other ingredients, but I absolutely despise hops / bitterness in beer.

For me, when drinking a beer, I expect a beer to taste as if I'm drinking "Liquid Bread", with all the Gluten, Fiber and other not-so-good things absent.

As it is, I've been having a "hell of the time" downing the last stash of my Wine Collection from years ago. I don't think I'll be buying any wine any time soon, if ever again. Maybe only some Sangria.

And I don't like the way Wine and Beer makes you feel long after consuming them.

  1. I had the same thing happen to me. I was an occasional drinker before, usually just a few beers a month max, but when I started eating raw carnivore 2.5 years ago, I just never felt the need to drink at all (alcohol in general), I did try beer a few times, but it was just disgusting to me.

    1. @Jedi Govna, It's crazy isn't it!? If this diet is really having this much of an effect, then it's also cumulative, because year by year, my desire is getting less and less. I both don't feel the need for it and it becomes even more repulsive, almost like a "burden" having to drink.

    2. I have the same effect with sweets of almost all kinds. There are a few exceptions, but I usually feel disgusted by the thought or sight of sweets like chocolate rabbits (for example).

  2. No, it's 100% not a product of age.

  3. Yes, it is a waste of time, money, and brain cells.

by the way, what is up with the Approvals needed lately on posting comments?

  4. Yeah, I've never really 'understood' the appeal of beer, except maybe for it's calming effects, it's otherwise pretty offputting, especially with the bitterness like you said. What I don't understand/can't tell is if the people who drink it actually like it or the 'effects' of it. The only alcohol I do like are apple cider, mead, and any other drink that's sweet but low in alcohol.

I knew some guy who was one of those metal, leather wearing edgy guys, and he would drink several guinesses a sitting. He actually looks fine, but tbf he is still young so maybe it hasn't caught up to him yet. I just wonder if this guy was actually craving it, using it as a depressor, or or just social drinking for the occasion. He also seemeed 'different', quiet and withdrawn even though a lot of people seemed to like him, so I wonder if he uses alcohol as a way to suppress something.

But yea- good point to check the ingredients- I'm frustrated by how many brands ruin their product using shtty ingredients to the point I'll even have to make a simple product myself

  5. Also PSA or anyone here, do you have any reccomendations for what computers are best? I have had dell laptops both break within 2 years. Maybe something more old school, or even a computer instead of a laptop would be better?

  6. @PSA
Would you say this flipedp switching this women is describing happening to her,
demonstrates AI programming in NPCs, that they are almost able to clock immediately if someone isn't like them, and how they across the board have a negative reaction to the person they've 'clocked'?
