An Interesting Short Documentary About Upsides on Depopulation
A very well done video, in fact. Not very charismatic, but the facts were laid out. I would like to say I am pleased he illustrated the significance for the 30 Years' War. Because the loss of German populations and others was so great in this tragedy, that even to date, Germany has never recovered from the cascading damages and losses to what the consequences were for this period, and the loss of more preferable genetic specimens...
And I really doubt we we would have ever recovered from it, even if both World Wars never happened that followed later.
What's very angering about the 30 Years' War, was that it was yet another unnecessary conflict and brother's war, all because of religion or religious prejuidices.
If you live in Europe today or have ever spent a lot of time in it, or even in the Early colonial areas of America, you would see how the streets, buildings and original infrastructure laid out was done so with the idea of a much, significantly smaller population.
This should tell you something, and it's not fair to just say that the builders and people alive at those times just didn't expect the population to grow that much bigger, but also that there was some sort of "ideal" for what would be reasonable size to build the infrastructure, and also particularly in the time when a lot of traffic was still horse-drawn or through Trolleys, etc. in the large cities.
Because everything including the infrastructure has now become so overbuilt and massive, it should serve as a stark signal of how insane it is to maintain this infrastructure and to even keep on building and developing greater, at the expense of people's happiness and peace.
One thing that also will become a major plague for the coming depopulation, will be the shortage of skilled / knowledgeable people towards certain maintenance or building of infrastructure and very field-specific knowledge. But the thing is, this will still sooner or later become a problem and an even larger one some day even if nothing is done to rid of the population, and will even be more problematic by just continuing to kick the can down the road.
Europe has been kicking the can down the road since 1945...
We also will be plagued with seeing a lot of unnecessary, ugly old sickly people more and more into the future. It's alkready like this in America, many parts of Europe and even Japan.
The Boomers are to blame for this, and they should be ashamed for how they shafted their children, and also Gen X with Gen Z.
These will be some of the ugly things we will endure, even in the midst of population collapse, unless we choose purge most of the elderly as well.
When do you expect this to occur?
ReplyDeleteI've read Japan is dropping by 600,000 every year since 2022.
What's interesting is that the change doubled big time after 2020.
In 2015 they only lost -180,000. 2020: -390,000 and 22, 23, & 24 are all in the -600thousands

I believe, boomers were given a hopeful view of the world, they were told they were the generation of the future and the world was their oyster. They had the comforts of a modern system, watched the moon landing, the hippie 'revolution', the rise of technology, vietnam war, etc but they didn't really change anything, at least in a significant and good way, did they? Life just happened for them, and to be honest they had more opportunities, and it was a SOMEWHAT better world. And what did they do with this 'potential' and 'privilege'?
So anyway, all I really enjoy thinking about is what'll happen next.
But even that is disappointing.
Do you believe PSA, that unexpected events will occur soonish? Look, no one expected covid to happen.
In this world PSA, things don't happen easily. Doesn't matter if there's a lot of energy or momentum. So, if something happens it'll either be out of the blue, or nothing. I know this overly logical thinking point might be annoying, but I don't like getting my hopes up for change, because nothing ever happens. Wait- isn't that what they said in Leave the World Behind?
@T345, The projections show beginning next year and maybe by 2030 for most countries... These projections are not just made up ones from some random analysts either. The Department of Defense and other Military contractors had been involved in crafting and forecasting them. However, the projections data do not take into account the likelihood or possibility of a Nuclear war, because if so, the numbers would be far greater, and the other numbers in the projections would be close to "Zero" for all kinds of things. But I still do not leave the Nuclear possibility off the table. It's very possible, even though there is a desire for it not too occur.
DeleteAmerica, UK and most countries in Europe, including Japan and some other scattered nations heavily dependent on the West, are supposed to have massive population declines, along with majorly contracting economies and military budgets. The projection for America's population is supposed to come down to around 99 Million. UK, Germany, France and many other countries will also face heavy population and economic losses, ranging from about 1/3 to over 2/3 of their people and economies.
But I don't think the vaccine is going to do all this damage in that time frame, not unless they released an actual toxin or something... But an economic collapse or other crisis, including unrest and other circumstances, can definitely bring it about.
I think the last I checked, one of the few European countries that was expected to not be affected, was Finland, I believe. Countries like Mexico and Russia and most emerging economies, show virtually no change or little if any in population, but sometimes show stagnations.
I think pretty soon people will understand the West is toast, and there is no chance of reversing it, even if there was a will at this point.
The West has been done since JFK got his head blown off. He was our last intelligent President, that understood how the world worked, but wanted to just flip off the international bankers and see how far he could push his agenda. Bad move. And it worked for the rulers. Chinese Tik Tok, media is the new opium for the West, and these people keep buying up the good land and real estate in America. And the Latins are like little ants, as well, taking over the Southwest and West Coast. They are too stupid to come to the East, as they can't handle the cold weather. Either way, we are witnessing the destruction of America, and I expect states will be forming their own countries in a few decades.
ReplyDelete@Joey Aragon, I also cite the assassination of JFK to really be a turning point for the major escalation of the fall. Because what had happened is that after WW2, the USA had siphoned the energies from the efforts the Germans put into momentum, and this gave the Americans are short economic "boom" and "optimism" about the future. But the hurrah did not last very long, because after JFK, there seemed to be all kinds of emerging movements and outright boredom and self-loathing that emerged in the American consciousness, and where they want to experiment with the very foundations of life and challenge the structures that hold together a people, culture and their civilization. This is why it's been more or less a "free for all" from the times of the 68ers with the hippies and free love movement, civil rights movement, and experiment with drugs.
