Honestly, Had One of the BEST Days Today in a while, and I'll tell you why...

I had a good gut feeling this morning as well, but because it was "Veteran's Day" or basically any Holiday, especially Quasi-Holiday's like these, are some of the BEST days to go out and take advantage, but Quasi-Holidays like these are best because more things will be open, unlike say Thanksgiving or Christmas.

I forgot to write about this a while.

The next day coming up is Black Friday, although historically Black Friday was a psychotic day to go out because of people lining up at stores, but for many years because people now order online for sales and are less likely to go out and it's usually one of the best days I get service.

I envisioned going out today where there would be almost no traffic on the road, and surely enough, it was just like that... All Federal Offices and Government workers, Schools, OFF THE FUCKING ROADS.

Also, not occupying special seats for VIP specimens like myself, which demand only the best.

I had one of the BEST coffees and muffins ever this morning, couldn't believe it, served with extra special care, including the place I got a Steak Sandwich and some Chicken Wings.

Almost nobody inside, not feeling rushed, and plenty of seats everywhere.

These are the perfect days, and it basically also demonstrates how overpopulation and being overworked, IS a real thing, because of how different the atmosphere and treatment is everywhere.

On such days in times past too, If you go to a Pizza Place on these days, you often might get more toppings on your pizza, or adjust accordingly for where you would be eating.

Part of the reason they are also nice and do this too though is because sometimes if it's a slow day and they need to cycle the food through what their availability is for that day or the week, they decide to give you extra on these occasions.

I really keep saying, I need to make it my new ritual, to always go OUT on these type of days every time and indulge, while all the NPC's are at home celebrating for other reasons... In today's case, they are busy everywhere celebrating War Criminals and visiting graves.

It's amazing how humanity works, innit!?

Not even joking, one of the best days of my life. I'd do anything to live like this everyday.

When I got home, I put on some records and made a margarita. Epic Times!

  2. it also just shows how completely void of morals NPCs are. They have this idea that things are right or “wrong” (dualistic views also show idiocy, even if technically not all forms of dualistic thinking is wrong) and shows how even though murder is bad, they will gladly celebrate soldiers going out and killing each other because it was the “right thing to do”. Even most celebrated leaders in human history were not so good, even when people become aware that the man they celebrate on ___ day is actually reprehensibly against their moral views, they still celebrate them.

Sounds like you had a fun day though Prussian :]

  5. I feel happy for you. I may try this myself next time, I can remember going to the mall on these type of days and feeling very relaxed and no energy drained afterwards, I understood we should live like that every day, without too many people around, no traffic, everything flowing in a slow-paced and natural manner.

  6. That is why it is good to "hang in there". No need to unalive yourself. Good days come up from time to time, to make this experience worthwhile.

I have noticed that the Matrix is always trying ANYTHING to get me more invested in this place. Sometimes, they get me.

But, then, I scale back, when I realize its all a game to mess with my peace.

  7. I always used to work the 'Public Holidays' at work as it meant all the 'timewaster' members of staff were all off, and the day was guaranteed to be 'slow.' All of the usual services who would waste my time with irrelevant phone calls, trying to make appointments etc would also not be working so I wouldn't be bothered by that. All the 'managers' were on 'holiday'..on and on. Then when they all came back to 'catch up' on work, I would be taking a few days of as i had 'worked the holidays.' I also got paid more for working the 'unsocial hours.'

    1. @HUMAN PASTE,

Yep! It really depends on the type of Holiday of course... For example on Thanksgiving and Christmas, anyone who works those days, even if a place is open, is likely to have poor morale, and it will usually be the most newest employees / lower quality types who will be working those days, and so the service is likely to be shit.

Other good days for example are Columbus Day, Labor Day (although this could be hit or miss), a large part of it really depends on how much one feels as though they shouldn't be working that day. I think Veteran's Day really is a hit, because very few people are Veterans, so the only people who would feel most upset about having to work would be actual Veterans, and most of them are likely not even working to begin with. So it was a total win.

I am thinking to test Black Friday again, in many past years ever since the shift of Online shopping took off, it has been an excellent day to go out, and the rest of people who don't shop out in public are usually hung over and sleeping in late, so there tends to be minimal traffic and good service, even though it's not an actual holiday as such.
