Thought I was going to have a Free day OFF today... FUCKING NOPE...

Another asshat calls me frantically at the asscrack of dawn.

The Worst part is these people try to make "their" problems, "my problems".

Can't fucking deal with this.

Honestly, the day I really do decide to fully retire, I'm going to get rid of my number and go cold turkey, because sooner or later I'll be dead anyways, they will be forced to face the day one way or another.

All I ask is for a SINGLE FREE FUCKING DAY, and I have not had one in over a month.

OF NO CALLS, NO E-MAILS, NO NOTHING.

Even on Sundays and Holidays, I still get bothered by someone.

To make matters worse, while it used to be generally accepted as "Business Etiquette" to respond in up to 48 hours, that almost no longer applies.

Not only MUST you return the call on the same day, but if they don't hear from you in 3 Hours, they begin panicking and blowing up my phone with voicemails and texts, and also e-mails.

I'm not going to be living the rest of my life like this and playing "Secretary".

I don't live to serve them.  But they act as if I do, and that I couldn't POSSIBLY be having an off day, or some other kind of obligation or "gasp" maybe serving another customer!?

  1. May I ask what you are doing? Are you an electrician? Or similar?

    1. @Eike,

Sort of along the lines in that field, it involves construction in homes and businesses. So I am constantly buying and installing parts.

    2. Business lesson number one:

You can't be all things, to all people.

Maybe scale back a bit. And be more selective with your customer base. Saying NO is hard to do, but must me done for longevity.

    3. @Joey Aragon,

This is exactly the direction it has to go in, and I am drafting a whole new policy.
