One thing Gen Z is "somewhat" right about and I don't blame them...
There is somewhat of a valid reason that Gen Z hates hierarchy, in a way which I do side with them on...
The tricky part it is this. Hierarchy is actually "natural".
But the problem is that, Gen Z is born into a generation where they are bullied by a Hierarchy that is NOT well-meaning or intentioned for them, but puts on all the performances and guises to make it seem as if those hierarchies are well-meaning and intentioned, and make it seem like "merit" and "hard work" will allow them to gain a higher position on that ladder.
But nothing could be further from the truth.
The truth is that the people on the Hierarchies want to promote a "Zero Sum" Game while simultaneously making it seem like that isn't the case, and that if those who are willing be disciplined and worked hard, will get there "fair chance".
While the reality is that the game was even over, in life and in general, for Gen Z, before they even had a chance to start.
If I were growing up now, I would certainly reject ALL AUTHORITY and ALL HIERARCHIES and pretty much just upgrade myself to a VIP status in my mind, regardless of what people think, and would plunge myself into where I want to be.
My objectives would be to infiltrate, conquer, destroy and take my spot. No Politeness or Permission.
Because the truth is, you aren't going to get where you want to be no matter how hard you try anyway.
If I wouldn't get my way, I would definitely use force. It's only natural that Gen Z would feel that way too.
To expect anything else, is just really living out of touch with reality and the times we live in.
Plus, the short-sightedness of Gen X who had Gen Z, since they had them without thought and shouldn't have done so if they didn't expect to give them a foot forward anywhere in this world.
In the system we live under now, Gen Z gets "bullied" for every trying, but then when they fail, they get told they are "not trying hard enough".
Yesterday, at my store check out, I had a brief conversation with the cashier. He was finishing up his 2 year degree in cyber security. I jokingly told him that there might be some benefits in doing white collar crimes with his skills. Of course, he rejected that idea. But, there is some merit to it. It is a crime that he wouldn't get too much time for, and it would be very difficult to prove it was him.
ReplyDeleteNow, this is something I would not advise, but the logic behind it makes sense a bit. You have to be ruthless and confident in your skill set. This kid needs to set up a business plan to start his own business in cyber security, even it is only to be a consultant or independent contractor. He will make shit if he works for a Fortune 500.
This reminds me of my career in Fortune 500, and I worked mostly for Fortune 100. The truth is that I did my job with a lot of integrity and grit, but was always abused by my managers. Some were good. But, over half were demons. And, the bad managers always lacked talent and business sense. They loved to attack winners like me, because they didn't want me to rise up.
So, I agree with you.
You do have to be ruthless in the business world, to make it worth your time. Be good to your customers, of course and build relationships with the market, with your customers. But, inside your own company, be a ruthless prick. And what I mean, is always look for better jobs while you are working. Let them pay you to find a better job. Things like that. You have to look out for NUMBER ONE in this predatory world, or you will fail. No doubt about that.
I found this somewhere; curious, these slave-minded comparisons.
ReplyDelete"TATTOOS ARE MASCULINE
1-TATTOOS ON MEN
Tattoos are scars, they are bruises, they are supposed to be a symbol of having gone through adversity and come out the other side tougher and more resilient. This is a masculine mindset and a masculine ritual
Even though tattoos represent toughness and masculinity, they're almost always unrefined and low class. And even worse, these days tattoos don't represent a rebel mentality but a follower mentality. A truly independent man doesn't get any tattoos because he realizes how trendy they are. Tattoos have become a symbol of fake toughness and a weak mind
And that's tattoos on *men*. On women, tattoos are much worse
2-TATTOOS ON WOMEN
A woman is supposed to cherish, honor and PROTECT her soft, delicate, feminine skin. A woman damaging her own skin with toxic chemicals is a woman damaging her femininity. On a woman, tattoos are self harm and very unhealthy
• the more tattoos, the worse
• the bigger the tattoos, the worse
• the closer to her pussy, ass or face, the worse
• if the tattoos are of snakes, daggers, spiders or anything dangerous or violent –– also worse"
Tattoos are a red flag.
