So Sick Of These Fucking Audiophiles
I really opened a can of worms getting involved in those spheres.
Honestly I cannot stress it enough how absolutely toxic, retarded, egomaniacal and fucking dumb these losers are.
They are so retarded it's unbelievable that such a retarded niche group of people can be as dumbass anxiety-riddled morons like they are.
I've also learned that they can basically be convinced of anything by playing tricks on them about different parts, all because it's just in their head.
They are a special kind of demon, it seems. ;))).
ReplyDelete@Joey Aragon, They sure are, not even joking! I was hoping to maybe connect with more Musician types as well... But I think a lot of these guys are a combination of Anti-Social Losers and Autistic.
DeleteYou can't ask anything without them getting their panties in a bunch. If you ask to even compare equipment, they will try to find a way to mock or insult the person who asks, claiming that the two pieces of equipment are "too different from each other" or some other nonsense excuse not to answer something.
Then there are guys out there who literally are spending $2,000 - $5000 on a cable trying to "flex" as if it's going to "sound different".
What's even creepier with some of these spergs, and it's not just one or two of them, it's TONS of them, is that they will take a comment I posted, and not actually REPLY to me, but completely hijack my comment in the conversation dialogue to put words in my mouth or veer off into things I never talked about or suggested, all to steal the "limelight" from you and make it seem like you don't know what you are talking about or are a beginner, and completely dismiss what one says in their comment, already telling you and repeating things to you that you already know or already discussed in your comment. These guys must absolutely not socialize with ANYONE in real life, and are boring depressed losers who spend THOUSANDS of dollars on overpriced / hyped equipment and cables, and are miserable and want to take out their angst on others :D
@PSA To give you a funny example too, one guy posted a "power cable" that he spent over $2000 for going from the wall to his Amplifier. He spent this on just an ORDINARY power cable, and was trying to boast online about how he is providing the "CLEANEST" power possible to his Amp. One guy called him out in one of the forums and said "Wait till he finds out what the electrical wires in his house are made of after spending his money on only a few feet for this cable".
DeleteIt ended up getting into a huge flame war and the guy took complete offense :D
Yes, this stuff drives me nuts. He probably waffles on about how the magic cable provides extra 'tone' or 'richness' or 'depth' or any other completely indefinable ,random, completely subjective nonsense that is totally impossible to prove or disprove. With these types its usually a case of `who bullshits hardest wins.` I know one particular 'Ambient' dickhead 'musician' who plays the most goddawful pedestrian guitar drone bollocks, that anyone with an effects pedal can make, and he goes on about how people don't understand his music because it is 'very Zen.' Like, they are not 'understanding' it properly. I fucking hate these tools.
ReplyDelete@HUMAN PASTE, Yes, you know exactly what I'm talking about! ALL OF THEM are like this... They criticize EVERYTHING YOU LIKE, and if you even own brands of equipment "they" don't approve of. And when you ask to compare models and they tell you how the models couldn't be more different, it's like THAT'S THE POINT, I am asking for an opinion BECAUSE THEY ARE DIFFERENT!!!
DeleteI once left a review on a certain piece of gear, and some guy began criticizing me because I wasn't using all the famous meaningless "buzzwords" they all use to describe it, I just put it in my own words how I experienced it, and that wasn't apparently to their liking, and was "vague" as they called it.
I honestly couldn't even imagine spending a day out with these people to hang out, and lord knows what kind of criticisms they would launch at me from seeing my own personal setups.
I actually did learn a couple of new things about the industry as well, including the fact that the reason some gear is seriously overpriced has a good bit to do with dealing and catering to these pricks and making them think they have something special. Don't get me wrong, some does go into Research & Design and the engineering, but I read into some stories of Sales Associates in ways they have had to DEAL with customers even with the intention to be honest, and apparently many of these guys will STORM OUT of the business if they are told their equipment isn't any better than standard stuff or accuse them of lying or ripping them off. And so they are forced between trying to sell make believe high-end stuff just to shut their mouths and make them feel they "SCORED" a high end item, especially snake oil cables, or some other item when something on Amazon would be almost nearly the same and cost only pocket change.
So essentially these assholes make everything become all that much more expensive for everyone at the same time.
They are so neurotic that even if you just by chance don't mention something, you immediately get roasted by someone who accuses you for not bringing something up, even if I were just explaining a different angle of something.
Then there are the arguments between Tube Amps vs. Solid State.
Then we argue about Quality Control issues between different brands. Another thing too is that there are actually even people in this industry who create MULTIPLE accounts on nearly every platform related to certain equipment, all to leave similar stories of lies or nonsense about equipment, all to hope to mislead and discourage others from purchasing equipment.
It's INSANE that there are people out there like this.
Its nor the same, but , I guess 'noteworth.y I know many people who will buy a 'remastered' album and go on about how much better the 'remastered' version is. Even a band I am a fan of released a few years ago, a 'remastered' edition of an album that they had only just released a few years prior in 2015 ( I had the temerity ta ask why they didnt bother to get the record 'mastered' correctly in the first place, to avoid having it 'remastered' -which caused much annoyance amongst some people). Anyway, I was previously friends with a singer who had four albums from the 80`s and 90`s 'remastered.' And I know for a fact that at least 3 of them were not 'remastered' because I delivered my own original CD copies of those records to the record company to re-press them and re-release them as 'remastered' but I know they did no such thing. So I have first hand experience of how lots of this techno-babble is just selling points to fleece gullible people of their cash. And too be honest, I don't even care about it because as they say "A fool and his money are soon parted."
ReplyDelete@HUMAN PASTE
DeleteIt really depends I suppose, in my experience, most albums which are remastered are absolutely a "joke" unless the Remastering job was done for Vinyl, because since Vinyl has a different Dynamic Range and a more limited Frequency Response compared to a Digital format like a CD, they may choose to "Remaster" it to be more enhanced for Vinyl playing.
The problem is that "Remastering" could mean even nothing more than simply eliminated a few "ticks" or noises found on the tracks that were later removed, and almost nothing done differently to it!
I can tell you one example of this, and this is actually a known fact. ALL Metallica re-releases. I went as far as checking into the Music tracks and their compression levels, and doing side-by-side comparisons with the Original Releases and the Remasters. They are all the same, and in fact, there was slightly higher compression on the Remasters!
That being said, it's also known that every Metallica remaster whether on Vinyl or CD has been garbage, as they sound very thin and lacking of Bass particularly from the "older years" when they were still recording in Analog.
In most case scenarios, it's usually the original pressings which hold most prestige, desire and even value compared to Remastered releases, because from a purist standpoint, the sound the way it was intended to be heard has been "altered", so that sure is interesting.
@HUMAN PASTE,
DeleteBut actually when I think back, I have known people to claim how the Metallica and other remasters were "superb" to the originals, even though there was no actual difference, so yeah, it's amazing how a marketing gimmick such as the "Remastering" can be used as an excuse to re-capitalize on their former success of an album all to get people to buy the album again for no real reason or just for collector's purposes.
If you notice, the trend of Bands / Record Companies doing this has exploded since "COVID".
