Hypervitaminosis "IS" a real thing

I don't typically do video reviews on the topics Goatis posts relating to Meat-eating topics, but on this one I actually had to come out to say that there are definitely some things on this that I don't agree with whatsoever.
Realistically speaking, if someone wants to eat liver, especially Beef liver on a regular basis, even two meals per week would typically be more than suffice for meeting most people's nutritional needs.
If someone were a former "vegan" and their nutrition stores were depleted, then that might be a whole different story.
A vegan might in fact really need to eat liver and organs almost every day, possibly even for some years to regenerate their liver and body stores / overall health.
But someone who has routinely ate good amounts of meat for their life, would likely not need to do this or benefit that much from that.
The thing too though is that no two livers will ever be the same in quality or nutritional content, so you can really never know what excessive levels of something you may be getting of something. Every animal will have a completely different lifestyle and history of the nutrition in what it eats, nevertheless, young livers are ALWAYS more desirable, safer and taste much better and come with less risks compared to eating the livers of older animals in any case scenario.
But Hypervitaminosis, is a real possibility.
To be fair, to some credit of what Goatis says about the Vitamins coming from real food, what he says IS SOMEWHAT TRUE but only to a certain degree, in comparison to the Vitamin Supplements which are far more dangerous.
And the reason for that is because even if a Vitamin Supplement is derived from food, the problem with Vitamin Supplements is that most of them are not regulated, and they are processed in a form where they do NOT assimilate in the body in the same way from the Food Sources. This means that they extreme amount may pose a "shock" to the body, whereas the same amount potentially from a food source will have a more mellow or gentle effect in terms of how the body including the liver assimilates and processes the nutrients.
While it also is "true" that the body is equipped and capable to strongly regulate "excess" vitamins or nutrients, the fact is that this is typically the case with people who are young or otherwise healthy, and assuming that their Liver and Kidneys are in top working order.
The regulatory processes that the body use can be strained in an unhealthy or aging individual, and the thing is even in someone healthy, over time, these organs tend to become less efficient or can become exhausted in repeating having to filter and more nutrient excesses.
Anything in excess will still put strain on these organs, so the thing is even if they get away with excess in their "youth", it does not mean at some point that the liver or kidneys will not get tired of excreting them, and the thing is that Liver Enzymes can potentially also reach high levels from overexposure over a long period of time from overdose of certain vitamins.
Overall, it's just not worth it, and there's no point of loading the body up with any excess of what it needs anyway, only for it to have to deal with excreting it.
While occasional bouts of vitamin overload from a natural food source are not likely to be any major concern or making risk of damage, repeated and regular exposure over time certainly can create problems to mount in the future.
With consumption of liver, there is a definite risk over excess from the following nutrients:
Vitamin A
Copper
Iron
Zinc
Niacin
Even some other nutrients that are in excess for a certain animal, could potentially cause an issue at some point down the line, even if at some point there had not been an issue with it.
When it comes to Bear Liver of any species, especially Polar Bears, the amount of Vitamin A in the Polar Bear Livers are ABSOLUTELY of lethal levels, there is absolutely no contesting that. There is no way I would ever chance eating the flesh or organs of any species of Bears.
While Organs are indeed healthy for humans to eat and are a powerhouse of nutrition, they are beneficial to consume here and there, we should never be under the assumption that we have the same level of urgency, need or frequency that other animals such as "Lions", "Cougars" or other animals have for the demand, because they are powerfully built and very fast hunters, and they need the energy and nutrients in the Liver far more than some other animals or even Humans.
That's quite interesting. Someone once mentioned that there's a reason there's hundreds of pounds of muscle meat in a slain animal, and only a pound or more of liver. I believe the main reason people may overconsume liver or organs, is they believe it will make them some kind of God that is rewarded by nature. I know myself, because that would be my main reasoning for intentionally eating lots of organs, especially liver.
ReplyDeleteThe reason I think this way, and perhaps many other people in the sphere do, is because Goatis says muscle meat is slave food, and that while muscle meat can still make you happy, organs are supposed to make you "really" happy. And besides, we're also taught by Goatis that this is what the elites are always eating, tons of organs, and blood. Do they themselves take precautions to this Hypervitaminosis?
Speaking of blood, what is the nutrient profile of blood actually like? Is it potent like liver? Will drinking it make you feel like a "God" or cause you to exude "higher vibrations" or feel a high? And I wonder how much the freshness of blood matters in terms of consumption. See, in Goatis' Blackpill Documentary, there's a kind of obese gothic woman who lives alone and drinks tons of blood through wine glasses. But her's has kind of darkened and look's more like red wine or pomegranate juice, in comparison to the thick, brighter-red, coagulated look that fresh blood has.
Goatis says the elites are the happiest humans alive, so if Hypervitaminosis is an actual real thing and issue, what perhaps have they calculated to be the "perfect" human diet?
@John Eston,
DeleteThere is no doubt that organs and the blood in animals can make you feel unbelievably Euphoric, if it was a very healthy animal and especially a fresh hunt. The problem with most livers is that the ones you get in stores are nowhere near as fresh and also will not always get someone feeling "high" or euphoric. Blood is the "Life Force" so naturally it will make someone feel Euphoric and as if they can conquer.
I'm pretty sure the Elite just eat and drink whatever they want when they want, they listen to their own instincts for when they crave something.
If someone is not in need of so many nutrients, they will not crave liver like crazy, but if they have denied themselves for a long time such as a Vegan would have, or even the iron and nutrient loss a Pregnant mother will have, they will definitely be craving liver.
Generally the body will let someone know if they are eating too much of something by certain body reactions or just a revulsion towards eating something.
For example, I eat somewhat less meat in the summer months and have more fruits. In summer, too much meat and fat is "heavy" on the body and goes against the body's need to maintain optimal temperature.
For the e leats They’re more in tune with their bodies and I’m sure they just eat whatever they feel like. a lot of people crave muscle meat even over organs sometimes, even if the organ quality is amazing
Delete@zikeKEK, Precisely, and that's the key thing people forget. To listen to their body, being in tune with it. One could even reasonably be in optimal health even if they only ever ate muscle meat, particularly certain kinds, or if they threw some Raw Oysters in the mix now and then. Oysters are a fine substitute for organs, because they are a superfood. The main advantage Organs have is that they are just much more efficient of a way to get seriously dense nutrition in smaller amounts of the meat and of all kinds. But it doesn't mean someone can't eat anything they want.
DeleteI think Goatis is just adjusting the "goal posts" with the whole meat thing, because at one point he was promoting the High Meat more, then at other times the Muscle Meat, but if you notice lately it's all on Organ Meats and then relegating Muscle Meat to a "slave food", but eating meat any day is far better than nearly any kind of other food.
Sometimes, even "Fresh Organs" just don't taste too great. Especially if the animal came with too much of one nutrient like maybe too much "Copper", you'll be able to taste it. Even Kidneys can have a tendency to have an Ammonia taste because of the urine. The texture of Organs, also leaves much to be desired compared to the texture of muscle meat.
DeleteIf my health or ability to live were dependent on exclusively eating organ meats, I'll be honest with you, I would have unalived myself a long time ago.
you have to admit that sometimes a nice steak can look even more appealing than liver. But as I mentioned, even if I had fresh caught organs from animals fed only high quality food, I’d still want muscle meat sometimes
Delete@zikeKEK, Exactly. A Ribeye steak any day or beef ribs will absolutely be more appetizing in most cases over actual liver. I also think that the claims about claiming that liver tastes like "chocolate" are great exaggerated copes by people trying to convince themselves that it tastes better than it really does.
DeleteThe problem with liver, is that it's never consistent in quality, texture or taste, like muscle meats usually tend to be. And that can really discourage someone from buying it regularly. The "aftertaste" lingers a lot too, especially the grass-fed kind, I actually have not been a real fan many times of grass-fed beef where the flavor of it comes through too strong even in any cut of meat not just liver. In fact, some of the grass-fed beef also is "too lean" to be sustainable for eating as full meals. That's a whole other issue unto itself too.
The other way I know some of these "carnivores" are full of shit, are the ones who think about eating meat right in the morning. The stomach is not really optimized for eating a large amount of meat for breakfast or might make most people "sluggish", hence why people are said to be under a "fast" and it's referred to "breaking your fast" or "breakfast" when having your first meal of the day.
The stomach acid tends to be lower in the morning, and that's why most people either only look for a small pick me up, maybe a fruit or small carb item, or maybe nothing at all and wait until lunch to eat. Historically, Humans never really ate "breakfast" anyways, it's a relatively new phenomenon, but I laugh at some of these people how they start their day eating a whole lot of meat. It doesn't work for most people in actuality.
