A New "Business Gimmick" I've been noticing in the Restaurant Industry
I figured I would post this, because it left a sore spot in me actually, because it used to be at a restaurant I would frequent which had very good food, a place I was a "regular" at.
The place happened to Serve Pizza and a lot of other good food, but ever since the 3rd Ownership Change, the new guy who took it over is a complete bastard and totally changed the place for the worst.
It's so bad, that even the Brazilian Chef who worked at it quit his job over no longer tolerating the corners that this owner cuts of the place, but the guy who owns it now is an Anglo-Saxon.
The place used to be very CHEAP and give generous portions. Now it's the opposite. It keeps getting more expensive, and the food looks like school lunch food, not even exaggerating one bit on that.
But the guy found a clever way how to run his business in the most shady manner to keep "profits" rolling on in, with the help of Internet Marketing and also "bribing people" to get them to leave 5 Star Reviews when they visit the restaurant.
So the food SUCKS, and even the Alcohol sucks too, they make disgusting drinks, however what they will do is serve "side extras" of shots or extra cocktail mixtures not used, or other "sides" for free, to lure all First-Time Customers to the place, and to make sure they leave a 5 Star Review all so the Restaurant is not only more promoted, but also so it keeps a pattern of more "routine Newbie customers".
The Owner doesn't care about loyal customers or selling good quality food and drinks.
He goes cheap on the food, but he upgraded ALL the furniture, and ties using fancy toothpicks and other artifacts in the dishes to make them look more "Festive" or "Upscale" even though it's more of an off-road dining type of establishment.
So he banks on getting a constant flow of New Customers who have to learn the hard way that the place sucks, but they are deceived from the photos, and because he puts pressure on his waitstaff to try to be extra nice and give them the extra small "freebies", and to make it think they had a good experience, they give them other perks by leaving the 5 Star Reviews.
In the photos, he will always only publish the best looking "Dish" examples on Facebook or Instagram, but when you actually go there, everything is smaller and made very shoddy.
I knew how he was cutting corners for starters, but many more months into the place he took over, I began to see the bigger picture of what he is doing, and he is just looking to make the mark by getting even only one-time customers who might return once or never again, and to make people feel compelled to try the place out.
Absolutely unreal how much lack of dignity there are in so many Whites these days.
If I didn't know any better about his practices, looking at the way he has the restaurant advertised online, I would think I have to rush and head down there too, and almost every review left has people talking about how they were desperate to finally try it out.
It's the culture as well, PSA, that contributes...
ReplyDeleteThese fucking Instagram videos about food are worthless trash. Italian food is VERY CHEAP to make, so if you are spending more that $25 for food, tax, and tip, you over spent. And I even think that is too high...
5755 Spring Mountain Road is a great spot...in Vegas....best off the strip Italian restaurant. Look at their menu...and those are the prices you want to have at your establishment. The cook is from Italy and the owner is Doyle Brunson's son, Todd. All class acts.
That is the only place I will go out to eat, in Vegas, and enjoy it. Sure, I get dragged around to a few other places, but I don't like them.
Also, I am sick and tired of these terrible BBQ places. And Asian Buffets, that are dirty and have terrible, bland food. Lastly, the Mexicans getting crazy with their prices on simple to make food items like Burritos, etc. These are food items that a simpleton can make.
This is why I can respect the French a bit...they probably have the best food in the world. Italians are great, but they use cheaper products, and generally, any moron can learn it. The French are just the most sophisticated in their approach. Even Eric Ripert makes fun of Kitchen Nightmares and that idiot Gordon Ramsay...Riper is easily the best chef in the world right now. I would pay to eat his food, because he is a thinker and respects his customers.

ReplyDeleteHouston Stewart Chamberlain was a British philosopher who wrote the following about England in 1900:
"In 1900 Chamberlain stated sadly that his Britain, the Britain of aristocratic rule, hard work and manly courage, the romanticized "Merry Old England" of his imagination was no more; it had been replaced by what Chamberlain saw as a materialist, soulless society, atomized into individuals with no sense of the collective purpose and dominated by greed."
And:
"That since the 1880s Britain had "chosen the service of Mammon", for which he blamed the Jews, writing to Wagner: "This is the result, when one has studied politics with a Jew for a quarter century." The "Jew" Chamberlain was referring to was Disraeli, whom Chamberlain had always hated. Chamberlain declared in his letter that all British businessmen were now dishonest; the middle class, smug and stupid; small farmers and shops were no longer able to compete with Jewish-owned big business; and the monarchy was "irretrievably weakened" by social change."
