There's Really Only ONE Improvement In Life Compared To 20-30 Years Ago, From What I See

The only thing I can say that most people alive today probably could be grateful for, for what it's worth, is how much more reliable and improved that Ordering Products Online or through any Company is, even compared to over 20 Years ago.

In fact, before the Internet, we always had to order things by phone or mailing in an order form through a Mail Catalog.

This process not only took much longer, but came with all sorts of risks and variables, along with many mistakes.

In the past, when products were ordered by phone or even by internet, the process often would lead to many more mistakes, even the wrong products or size / feature of something being incorrect. This was so much more numerous in the past.

Shipping Damage to all kinds of items was far more prevalent in the past, so it seems companies except for "Amazon" of course, have taken to note to the common way items are damaged in the shipment process, and have found better solutions in modern times to addressing these challenges.

For the most part, Orders today are 99.5% accurate no matter who or where you order from.

In the past, I would say Order Accuracy was only about 80-90%.

It used to be a nerve-wracking process to order something, especially if you ordered two items which were "very" similar in the order either in the title or appearance, or maybe if one was a variation in size or an option, color, etc.

Human Errors used to be very common in this process, and it would make you very hesitant to order much in times past.

Another thing too is that in times past, many products that were listed or photographed in many catalogs or the internet, even including clothing, looked nothing like what the product is you received.

While this still does happen, usually from maybe a website like Etsy or some sketchy website, it's been far reduced compared to what it used to be, especially since companies have made stringent policies on how something is represented.

In terms of clothing, when purchasing in the past, there was less description of "fit" and other sizing information as well. Today, companies have vastly improved description details of the fit and the fabric to make the process smooth in that you are way less likely to need to return clothing so long as you properly know your sizes, and that the fit descriptions describe accurate sizing.

There are also more Free Shipment deals, Promo Code Discounts, Reward Points, along with verification of the Package Delivery, Tracking and to ensure that the product gets delivered to the correct address, whereas this was far more problematic in the past.

I am someone who very much sticks to the old ways of doing things in general, but I will say to anyone who is suspicious of ordering or doing things online with things you need, for what it's worth, we are living in the Best Era ever of being able to get reliable, intact and properly described Merchandise online, delivered.

The process in the past used to be so much more trouble, and even more so before the Internet was available for online shopping.

And if anything went wrong between the time of placing the order to the delivery process, it was near impossible to track, trace or correct anything along the entire process, meaning you could be screwed.

The reason I believe that these abilities have been streamlined and made much easier, is because of the pressure and trends of shutting down Retail Stores, particularly Malls and other Outlets, along with the fact that a future is being pushed where everybody gets everything delivered.

So they have reduced and tried to manage a lot of the risks and unintended consequences, which were horrific back in the 1990's through the early 2000's.

In the past, you never knew when something was shipped out to you, and even if you did, the Courier Tracking systems were not updated as frequently or reliable, and sometimes they would never indicate when your package is due for delivery, or were far behind schedule of the actual transit time.

People who refuse to buy things online that they may need or want, are really punishing themselves, especially considering how much better quality and niche products can be found online, compared to Retail Stores.

I understand the quality suffers on many modern products, especially with using Cheaper Materials, and much of what comes from China, but not 100% of it is junk, and there are ways to find far better things online compared to the actual junk you will find in Walmart or Target, etc.

All of this might seem like a "duh" moment to some people, or particularly if you might be much younger and where this seems like nothing special to you, but it really used to be very nightmarish to order things from mail catalogs and even sometimes from the Internet in the earlier days.

You could argue that people bought more things at physical storefronts, and while that is true, the point is that they were only purchasing what was regularly known that existed, compared to what they might actually want.

Return Policies also used to be much more difficult in the past, and despite the fact that some companies might have stricter Return Policies these days, they used to be far more difficuilt in the past, and they would scrutinize your reasoning a lot more, unless there was something obvious enough.

In the past, even ordering music online or through a catalog, I can't tell you how many CD's or Records I've ordered that would typically come in "damaged".  There is nothing more disappointing than receiving a broken album, especially the Digipacks where there are broken plastic pieces, or where the corners have been smashed or damaged. Thankfully some companies have learned from this, and now use tested cardboard that are extremely protective. Only Amazon doesn't learn, because it doesn't care, and I strongly suggest people minimize or outright not buy products from Amazon.

This is really one of the only things I can say in life that has drastically improved in standard of living, because when I think deeply about it, outside of this or the benefits of how some Technology helps you to find information quicker when booking plans or trips and what have you, everything has really become that much worse.

I really try to think of other things, but I cannot come up with anything else that has really improved.
