The Tarriff "Pause" Does Not Look Good For Trump
This is not just a rule in Politics, but it also is something very near and dear to us Prussians, as it concerns Prussian Policy-making and also even matters relating to International Policy.
But, the thing is, when it comes to decision-making, for better or worse, once the decision is made, it must be executed.
It cannot just be executed and then "rescinded" on a Moment's notice.
Such actions are not only cowardly and lead to volatile outcomes and unwanted consequences, but they also demonstrate a sense of weakness and uncertainty to Foreign Nations witnessing such hesistancy or reversal off course.
I do not support the Tarriffs measures, I understand what Trump is trying to do or thinks he will achieve by enabling them, but unless we had an abundance of manufacturing and build the top tier products in the world that are envied by others, the Tarriffs will only make things worse in the long run, even for short-term gains.
Once an action is decided upon, it's really foul and bad form to try to push it through and then reverse course out of nowhere. In fact, this type of execution will leave you even worse off in the position both before you started to execute, and even worse off generally compared to leaving the policy in motion, even if it were a bad choice.
This makes America look even weaker and is really showing further how hollowed out it is as a country with such incompetent, greedy leadership.
Generally speaking, a Government must heed course, once it has decided upon something, and this is even true down to matters of War and many other issues.
Even Bismarck would be outraged to see reckless political decisions like this that are suddenly "abandoned" and this also is why I am withdrawing most, not all, but most of my Involvement in the Political Sphere and reporting on most Political Events.
Because the News changes at a moment's notice or what I might even say turns out to be a lie because of how badly it ages.
If I told you about the Trump Tarriffs that were to go in effect on April 2nd, after an already "earlier pause", good thing I did not bank on it going through on that day or speak of it from a standpoint of where it was set in stone, otherwise it would make me appear as a Liar. There are a lot of other events that take place in similar manner as well, since Politics these days is all about Chaos and getting the public to react.
The Markets are now all over the place with the sudden shifting of news along with retalitory effects of China imposing their return tarriffs. There are no doubt some real schemers in the system who are "cashing in" on all the losses that have been mounting, especially in the last week along, nevermind the start of Trump's Term with stocks and so forth.
Also, I'm sure some of you have heard, but "frictions" are also emerging massively behind Donald Trump and Elon Musk. They aren't seeing eye to eye on a whole bunch of things, and that's no surprise to me.
I believe what Trump is doing is trying to bite off far more than he can chew with the power of the United States, because not only is the United States not in the most primary position for Power Negotiation, but the Office of Presidency also does not admit such powers to the sitting President.
Democratic Forms of government are always set to self-cannibalize themselves in the end, and you know you've reached the end once the government loses its grip on being able to make its policies actually work and become effective, whether it was the War on Drugs, or claims of reducing the Deficit or Federal Spending, or Bringing Manufacturing Back.
None of it has happened.
The thing is, what bodes far worse about something like this Tarriff issue, even if it means that it's Trump's Billionaire Club Buddies, so-to-speak, who would be benefiting is that both the Peasant Class and the Billionaire Class who would be more hopeful, will become angered over it.
These type of policies only harm a leader's position and reputation in governance.
Not a good luck for many reasons, but the biggest is because of all the instability this will brings towards anything Trump says in the future. This was, of course, by design. Trump is a good soldier boy and does what he is told by the International Military Banker Complex in Switzerland.
ReplyDeletePrecisely. He is doing his job very well for them. All we can hope for at best is that most of the Leftists lose their jobs from his economic chaos and policies. I think we will be in a wild ride for 4 years of Unhinged Protests and Clown World on steroids compared to his initial term.
DeleteI can't agree enough,
ReplyDeleteI also read somewhere that this might be Trump's way of forcing lower interest rates, I lost the full explanation of how, but it's something to look out for...
And yes this- play against the whole world dynamic, even your allies, for an uncertain monetary gain, I can't imagine ending good.
This might be stupid to compare too, but no game I've ever played in my life ends well if you 'attack' everyone at once including your allies, unless you're more powerful than everyone and can bet that no retaliation will work against you. No it's not exactly an outright 'attack'- but it shows that America will force a better hand, even if it comes to their allies getting a worse deal, as I'm sure many countries put tariffs on America in the first place, to protect their own countries businesses and manufacturing. Therefore America is doing the same thing to other countries as they are accusing other countries of doing to them.
Also, countries are looking to look for other countries to depend on to prepare for American tarrifs- so it doesn't even look like it's forcing a better 'deal' for the US in many cases, just giving people another reason not to invest in the USA.
Even many Canadians are intentionally avoiding buying American products, not because of cost, but in retalian of what Trump is trying to do. And this has lasted even after Trump delayed the tarrifs.
Trump says tarrifs force countries to make 'better' deals with America, yet on April 3rd 1 day after Trump's 'liberation' day, there's a video of Macron suggesting Europe stop investing in the USA lol: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/17lqu_46ayU .
@T345,
DeleteEven most American products that are manufactured, with the exception of Military parts... Even down to plastics, almost everything American-made is even inferior to what comes out the Chinese Sweatshops nowadays. Most of the Chinese products are at least identical if not higher quality than American products, and that is simply based on current manufacturing quality standards, not what they used to be DECADES ago, because the stuff being made now is a lot of times garbage.
But yes, it could be the way to force lower or negative interest rates. Trump likes negative interest rates, but the Federal Reserve System is really the one who decides what happens, so if anything he is just playing into their hands.
