This is EXACTLY Where Society Is Heading...
In fact, I'd also say that in the future, once the Social Credit Scores really become a "thing", your Social Credit Score will be tied into your "reputation" with your ability / popularity /clout on Social Media, so if you expect to have friends or get anything done, you first will have to have enough of a "following" on an Internet Social Media website.
In the past, people did not have to go to this extent to gain "Social Currency".
This is the future, and I want 100% no part of it, or in it, which is why I am coming closer to the "contemplations":
There was a black mirror episode about that.
ReplyDeleteBlack Mirror!?
Delete@PSA- its a series on netflix... Pretty good actually.

Social credit score, peer pressure...fuck them all. Not sure what they are doing with Tik Tok. Probably more comedy nonsense.
ReplyDeleteThe world is so fake these days. These NPC pieces of garbage, thinking their opinion actually matter. The truth is all of the popular social media people are government agents.
@Joey Aragon, I checked out the "TikTok" Ban, and I can tell you that from a standpoint of "Computer Coding", it was the most cheapest, flimsiest method used to ban it, or at least maybe they are doing it that way strictly for the US at any rate, because it does not actually block the "signal" or access within the app. They simply put up an algorithm that triggers a nag screen that "halts" it from being used.
DeleteThey seem pretty optimistic that someone will buy out TikTok rights in the USA, which could happen, but the greater problem with the app is simply because it causes so much brainrot, with absolutely cringey, offputting content that is having a real negative effect on actual society.
I remember in 2020 some NPC from my school was posting a meme on Facebook making a reference of how you should be proud of not using TikTok and lots of people were agreeing with it. All of them probably use it nowadays lol. Some guy was sending me TikToks videos and just looking at these was enough motivation to not download the app. I find weird how after almost 3-4 years of the popularity of the app people are now recognizing how bad this short video format and the content itself is for the brain. It was obvious.
ReplyDeleteTik tok is ghhhaaa yyyy.
ReplyDeleteI see people over 40 years old obsessed with these applications, I don't even take young people into account because most of them are already lost, as you say, it is time to rethink this world that is coming.
ReplyDelete@blood, Yes, even Gen X is obsessed on TikTok as well. Especially the Husband Hunting "Cougars". It's repulsive.
